Uggani Masala

Ingredients

  • 2 cups puffed rice
  • 3 long Green chili
  • 1 Tomato
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp Chana dal
  • ¼ tsp Mustad seeds
  • ¼ tsp Cumin seeds
  • Few Curry leaves
  • 2 tsp roasted peanuts
  • 1/2 lemon

Instructions

  • Roast peanuts. Make half of it into a powder and keep rest aside.
  • Soak puffed rice for 1 minute in water, drain and keep aside.
  • Chop onions into small pieces. Chop tomatoes, green chilies finely
  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Season with mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Then add Chana Dal. Fry for a minute till they are Yellowish – Brown
  • Add grated ginger and cook for 30 seconds
  • Add green chilies and fry. Then chopped onions. Cook onions till slightly brown. Add turmeric
  • Add Tomatoes and cook till soft
  • Add Murmura, salt and stir to coat everything nicely
  • Heat for a minute. Sprinkle peanut powder. Stir and turn off the stove. Squeeze the lemon juice into Uggani and stir once
  • Serve Hot!!!
