Lauki ka Bharta Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Bottle Gourd (Lauki)
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • Pinch of Asafoetida Powder (Hing)
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • Finely chopped Green Chillies (as per taste)
  • 1 finely chopped Onion
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 finely chopped Tomato
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder)
  • Red Chilli Powder (as per taste)
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • Kasuri Methi
  • Chopped Coriander

Instructions

  • Take 1 Lauki and put it on direct gas heat
  • Roast until it’s completely dark and starts releasing skin
  • Peel its skin and chop well with the help of knife
  • Further heat 1 tsp Oil in a pan
  • Add 1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • Add a pinch of Asafoetida Powder (Hing)
  • Add 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • Add finely chopped Green Chillies (as per taste)
  • Add 1 finely chopped Onion
  • Add Salt as per taste
  • Add 1 finely chopped Tomato
  • Cook until it’s soft
  • Now add 1 tsp Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder)
  • Add Red Chilli Powder (as per taste)
  • Add 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
  • (You can also add garam masala)
  • Roast well and add chopped lauki to it.
  • Mix it well, cover the lid and cook for more 10-15 min on medium heat
  • Add Kasuri Methi & chopped Coriander in the end
  • Enjoy Delicious Lauki ka Bharta
