Lauki ka Bharta Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 Bottle Gourd (Lauki)
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- Pinch of Asafoetida Powder (Hing)
- 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
- Finely chopped Green Chillies (as per taste)
- 1 finely chopped Onion
- Salt as per taste
- 1 finely chopped Tomato
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder)
- Red Chilli Powder (as per taste)
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
- Kasuri Methi
- Chopped Coriander
Instructions
- Take 1 Lauki and put it on direct gas heat
- Roast until it’s completely dark and starts releasing skin
- Peel its skin and chop well with the help of knife
- Further heat 1 tsp Oil in a pan
- Add 1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- Add a pinch of Asafoetida Powder (Hing)
- Add 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
- Add finely chopped Green Chillies (as per taste)
- Add 1 finely chopped Onion
- Add Salt as per taste
- Add 1 finely chopped Tomato
- Cook until it’s soft
- Now add 1 tsp Coriander Powder (Dhaniya Powder)
- Add Red Chilli Powder (as per taste)
- Add 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
- (You can also add garam masala)
- Roast well and add chopped lauki to it.
- Mix it well, cover the lid and cook for more 10-15 min on medium heat
- Add Kasuri Methi & chopped Coriander in the end
